Texas Will and Trust Lawyer

You are never too young or too old to plan for the future. A strong estate plan that incorporates wills and trusts can ensure that your property passes down to your family in the manner that you intend. It can save your family from the time and the stress that is involved in the probate process. I have spent more than 10 years as an attorney helping people in Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas create an estate plan that works for them. I can put my experience and knowledge to work helping you.

What is estate planning?

Estate planning is generally concerned with two issues: 1) protecting your property from unnecessary expenses and taxes, and 2) determining exactly to whom you wish to give your property.

  • Wills: a written legal instrument that conveys your wishes upon death
  • Trusts: instructions that can take effect either before or after you die, which control how certain property is used or distributed
  • Powers of attorney: a grant of permission stating that another person can act on your behalf in either every matter or specifically defined matters
  • Living will/Advance healthcare directive: a document that defines what you want to happen if you should become incapacitated; usually a living will has less authority than a power of attorney

To learn about what aspects of estate planning will work best for you, I will take the time to learn about you and your family. When you choose me as your attorney, I will build an estate plan that is specifically tailored to you. I am able to incorporate a wide variety of tools, including legal wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and advance directives for healthcare.

I will take the time to explain all of the tools that will be included in your estate plan and what they mean to the future of you and your family. Estate plans put you in control of your future.
